Sorry, I was hopeful that ghost had the winner. I read the Log but I can not get anything out of it other than there are Errors there. I did a search on
"Error 10040: A message sent on a datagram socket was larger than the internal message buffer or some other network limit, or the buffer used to receive a datagram into was smaller than the datagram itself."
but did not get anything that seemed relevant to eMule.

Wait and see if ANYONE HAS MORE SUGGESTIONS (?)

If there aren't any brilliant ideas, then the last ditch is to REINSTALL eMule :( , redownloaded from the official site of course.
https://www.emule-project.com/home/perl ... m=download

I had to do that once when somehow I got it totally non-functional.

I look forward to more contributions in this thread, on topic of course.

I downloaded his server.met file but no joy.

EDIT:
adding the eMule Sunrise server immediately solved my problem, because it gave me HighID, so .... what was the problem? I don't know, but I would like to

I followed Ghost's instructions and they worked. eMule Security changed its IP address and port so the old one no longer connected. If anyone's having problems updating their server list you can always manually copy and paste this block of text in the Servers tab:

Code: Select all

ed2k://|server|45.82.80.155|5687|/
ed2k://|server|176.123.5.89|4725|/

That should do it.

Triela - I am glad you got it fixed! I have no idea why it worked. I can not think why one server would give HighID but not another. LowID should not generate errors and it should still allow a functioning eMule. Yet I do sometimes try the "Click this and see what happens" approach myself and I do not argue with success

Deadman - Aha! I had noticed that eMule Security disappeared from the list for a day, and that my High preference setting for it had also. New address, same name would do that. I hope the new one is not an impostor. I just now switched to it and it is working ...

Where do you paste this? I can't see an obvious box to paste all 12 lines in at once.

Full directions:
  • SELECT ALL in deadman's CODE box.
  • CTRL+C or Right-click and select Copy.
  • Go to the Servers tab in your eMule client. (Green oval in below image.)
  • Right-click in an empty space where Servers SHOULD be displayed. (Purple box below.)
  • Select "Paste ED2K Links".
(Of course I have Servers already listed in the image, so it did not actually do anything for me.)

Thanks. I had most of them.
There used to be several "emule security", the biggest with 30m files. But now it seems to be called "emule sunrise"?

I have both Sunrise and Security. I have seen two "emule security" options lately, and I can not remember way back. I never paid attention to the number of files (how can I watch 30 million movies?) but I have noticed that the Max Users seems to go up and down for it.

I recall "Emule Sunrise" being recommended here by someone recently. You can right-click and set Priority to "High" if you favor a particular Server, and it MIGHT automatically load for you over other Servers as long as too many are not using it already. Right now it has 49.95k users out of a total of 50k.

eMule Sunrise has been around for quite a while. eMule Security always had more files, and more users. Recently Security has become erratic though. It seems to go offline briefly but frequently, your eMule disconnects and chooses another server when this happens. Then they changed their IP address. I don't know what's going on with them but I hope they fix it soon. For the time being eMule Sunrise is the more stable of the two.

Yeah, you can copy and paste an entire list of servers in text format and the mule will add them all at once. I was able to update my hosts as Ghost did. But if for some reason it won't work for you, and you get error messages, eMule Security has a regularly updated page which lists the same servers that are in the automatic update.

https://www.emule-security.org/serverlist/

Click Add Servers to eMule at the bottom, or copy and paste the links one at a time if that doesn't work.
