I don't remember exactly how I first saw the movie, but I do remember being VERY impressed. This is one of the major movies that changed how I viewed and thought about film. I am pretty sure at one time I watched the Criterion laserdisc in a library, and I have been buying the various format upgrades since. The out-of-print Second Sight limited edition blu-ray release is one of my cherished possessions (standard edition still available) and I do not need the German dub, but I bet there are others here who would appreciate an upgrade. The Criterion 2010 blu-ray release was great for its time and was the best available version for quite some time, but it has since been improved in the eyes of many. (Of course there are always dissenting views.)

Oh, F* yes. Pre-ordered. That is how I know it is terrific, I was not simply going off of reading blu-ray forum posts, although I used to do that too. I am glad it came out before I stopped buying discs entirely.

 The 4K scan was made available to us by the licensor and has already been released abroad.

That makes sense. Scanning of original film materials is costly and doing a second 4k scan without good reason would not have made much sense. Once a scan is completed, different groups might choose different color grading, of course. In this case the licensor owns the scan so the scan itself will not be redone.

Nice. Thx. Always nice to have Streaming alternatives for when you don’t want to turn on your media Server etc (but mostly inferior to ghosts upscales that are eMule exclusives (for a good reason imho)
