If forced to choose only 1 Australian film among all posted in this section, this would be Walkabout, so amazing by all standards.

Technically, Jenny Agutter is way too old for FLM. She was born December 20, 1952 and Walkabout was filmed in 1970-71, so was at least 18 years old. I always thought she looked way more mature than the character she played in the film. In any case, the boy was within the age range so it's still considered on-topic.

I can see where she could be late 16, almost 17, and have the numbers add up. In any case, I still think she looks a mature 16. She had nude scenes in almost every film she made - Walkabout, Equus, Logan's Run, etc.

Agree (I prefer them between 6 to 12 yo), as someone else mentioned it “This was based on a book, in the book the girl was 12 and the boy 8 but movie makers changed that. ». But the film remains special with few or may be without any equivalent. A good on topic film does not need to contain nudity imho (if there is, good, but it should not be mandatory).

A true masterpiece of indie cinema from down under. A girl and her little brother go on a picnic deep in the outback with their father, who suddenly tries to kill them, then torches their car and shoots himself in the head, leaving them stranded with no way back. Lucky for them they encounter an aboriginal boy on Walkabout - a coming of age ritual where teenage boys go out into the wilderness alone for six months and return to the tribe as men. He helps them, and teaches them to survive ...

Despite being released in 1971, principal photography on this movie took place over the summer of 1969 when star Jenny Agutter was a 16-year-old student at Elmhurst Ballet School in Surrey, England. You might think watching her - and given some of her later films - that she was comfortable doing topless/nude scenes. But she'd never done anything like this before and was extremely nervous and awkward. She kept reflexively covering up and blowing takes. They set the cameras as far back as possible and everyone but the camera operator and director stayed away so Jenny would have the minimum live audience. Even then it wasn't easy, and she finished those scenes as quickly as she could.

Here's an article featuring a 2016 interview with Jenny and her costar Luc Roeg (the little brother) about how this film was made:

Jenny Agutter, Luc Roeg: How We Made Walkabout

You can also listen to Criterion's commentary track, which I included. It's amazing how improvised the whole shooting process was. This would've been a very different movie if it was made in Hollywood with every scene planned out and storyboarded, locations chosen and scouted ahead of time. They literally found many of their locations on the fly by describing to locals what was needed for a scene and asking if they knew of a good place.
