A few of you Lara Wendel fans might be looking for this one, although she was the ripe old age of 15 when she starred in this.

Many of you probably know the CIC clips as well.

Those of you unable to play mkv files's might like to read this website http://www.matroska.org/.

I have found that the mplayerc works perfectly, and you can download this simple little player here http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/guli ... p?download

I hope that might be of some help.

This release sucks, big time.
With great difficulty I was able to get a preview (copy the part file to another folder, rename extension from .part to .mkv, and play with WMP9 or above - after installing the needed codecs, of course).
I found the following:

1. Average picture quality (as expected from the title - VHS rip). No complaints here.
2. Large hardcoded subtitles in some East Asian language (subs might not be hardcoded - I don't know how this mkv thing works, but it might be possible to turn it off).
3. This is the deal breaker - for me at least. Complete censoring (fogging) of even the slightest display of nudity.

Looking for a better version. Sorry Debaser; I was looking forward to this release as much as you were. :(

I didn't notice it is a mkv file? I didn't hear about this format? VLC doesn't work with it?
mkv is fairly new to me as well, but after I downloaded mplayerc, everything is fine. mplayerc was also good for homecoming.

Ouch :(
I guess at least we now have some form of the movie, which is better than nothing.
Iv yet to watch it myself, although when a rare movie comes about that is cut/LQ etc I try not to complain to much , as I am greatfull for what is available to me, and you take what you can get in this game!

Of course that wont stop me looking for better versions! :)

I personally dislike WMP9 and above.
Im perfectly happy with the mplayerc which I found previews mkv files without the need for all that forementioned effort.

Didn't mean any offense, Debaser; that was just my own disappointment venting. :( Let's keep looking for a better release. :)

Of course I tried all the other players. VLC, MPC, BSPlayer, VirtualDub, even GSpot. Nothing worked for me except WMP9 using the steps I outlined earlier. :? Using XP SP2 - maybe the latest updates broke something. :(

No worries, Just me being over sensitive as usual.

There is me posting a release, and you lot are completing it first :)
Problem is I cant always run my PC 24/7 with other householders around.

I have to say that I was also suprised that my VLC wouldnt play the file when I tried it.

All is sweet now iv downloaded the mplayerc and set it to play all files with the mkv extention.

A few notes on MKV files. Expect to see them in the future. I have been tempted to use them for my rips that need subs. MKV is A/V container just like AVI. All it does is store a video stream and a audio stream. AVI's are very limited on what they can hold. Even VBR audio can be a pain. With MKV not only can you store more than one audio stream (AVI can't) but you can also store sub title files all in one easy place. Someone asked earlier if they could be turned off. In this case I would say no given that it's ripped from a VHS. But most you can. More or less just think how nice it would be to release a movie with not only the main audio but maybe another dub or commentary along with the subs all in one file. :thumbup1:

As far as playing them. It’s not a codec its a splitter. Once you download the splitter (there is a link above or you can use the magic google tool to find it). You should be able to open them in most major players. I use mPlayer (works but its harder to setup if you don’t know how) and it works fine with WMP9+.

As far as previewing them. I would recommend installing either mPlayer (what I use) or vDub. When previewing any avi that is not all the way downloaded you must first rebuild the index and it must have the header intacted. In plain english you need the say the first 500k of a 700meg file minimum after that you can have holes. But it can take a LONG time to seek to the next point and it can some times hang trying to find it. Rebuilding the index is easy but most major player can’t do it. mPlayer is the most forgiving. Not only can it play broken avi's. It can also play some mpg's that are missing headers. Plus you can preview a file while your downloading without having to copy it to a new folder or rename it. Install mPlayer where you like. Then go into your eMule temp dir and right click on one of the .part files and select "open with" browse to the mPlayer.exe and make sure you check "always open with". Bing your viewing MKV and AVI's

anyway thats my 2 cents...
