A limited edition of only 350??? I predict it selling out in 3, 2, 1...

I will link the cineploit site for ordering their products:
https://cineploit-records-discs.myshopify.com/

DISCLAIMER: I have no affiliation with Cineploit and provide this only as a service for FLM members. I know nothing about them and have no experience ordering from them either.

I placed a successful pre-order, so nobody else needs to. Like you I assumed a limited edition of 350 could easily sell out before the release date. That's not many! When it arrives (probably in early March) I'll post it here, and put the full BD on Usenet for anyone who wants that.

Thank goodness you got one! For more popular "cult" films, I have seen limited editions of thousands sell out in a matter of hours, months before the release date - including discs even more expensive than this one. Then of course many of them show up on eBay at double the price.

I suspect there are often more produced than they claim. If you can't do large volumes, it's better to have a limited release bigger than people think - that way there's inventory to sell off on third party platforms for much higher prices than the initial offering. For example I managed to get a copy of the limited release (3000 only!) edition of The Blue Lagoon (1980) in 2015, a full three years after it went on sale. What do you suppose the odds are they only ever made 3000 of them?

The quality of the L'Immoralita bluray should be excellent, as long as the original negatives are in good condition. That's the main difference between big and small studio releases these days. They can both do an outstanding job with straight transfers. The small studio just can't afford to perform digital restoration.

I also have suspected that employees of the small boutique labels would make more money by buying up copies of their own product immmediately upon release and reselling them later. The prices people are willing to pay when they are just a little bit too late are ridiculous. They even pay $100 for a slipcover. JUST the slipcover, not the blu-ray. And the slipcover has artwork identical to the standard blu-ray insert!!! (But I have to question my own intelligence for NOT reselling the slipcover I got easily because I was early, when some people value it so highly.)

Ah, Twilight Time. I actually believe they were honest in their claims, because they ultimately went out of business. Of course having Sony immediately rerelease all the successful titles helped kill them off too. Rather than pay the higher Twilight Time prices, people just began waiting for the larger label rerelease. When TT had to sell off stock at 50% sale prices, their business model was no longer working.

In this case, I waited until the UK Eureka edition of "Blue Lagoon" came out and then bought that one. I think I got it on sale, too. But I had to wait a few more years than you did.

Maybe outside of FLM, Brooke Shields films are not as popular as they used to be?

i seriously doubt as well that it’s just 350 pieces. Especially with the efforts they need to put into it..(remastering, subtitles, cover design,..)

@ghost you AI upscaled the DVD-R ISO?

Yes, the Ai-upscale was from my DVD. The result wasn't very good, but better than the DVD...

I was thinking of doing it again with other settings, but know I'm waiting for the Blu-ray. :P

Well here it is everyone: the blu-ray upgrade! :icon_1dancingban

Whoever she actually is, Karin Trentephol (11-13 yo) is amazing as the little girl who turns out to be every bit as cold blooded as the child killing psychopath taking "refuge" in her home. My rip contains subtitles in both English and German. Enjoy!
