Finally! thanks to Elmtree. :thumbsup

Large filesize but good quality, for a TV cap via VHS.

With English subs, too!

I grabbed this so quickly I never bothered to read Elmtree's nfo file until now, it's worth posting.
"L'enfant d'eau" (1995)

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0112961/

aka "Behind The Blue"
(That is not a translation of the French title,
but it is significant to the story.)

Starring: Marie-France Monette (age 14-15)
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0597917/

Genre: Drama/Romance
Length: 1hr 45min 54sec
Language: French
Subtitles: English (embedded)
Source: TV (commercial station) to VHS to DVD to AVI

Plot: A 12 year old girl and a mentally retarded 20 year old man,
the sole survivers of an airplane crash at sea, end up on a small,
uninhabited island in the Bahamas. When they are rescued 49 days
later, the girl is in extremely serious condition, in a coma.
Through her diary, we learn what happened to them on the island,
how their relationship progressed, and ultimately what led to the
girl being near death.

(The above does not contain spoilers; their rescue is the first
scene of the movie. The rest alternates between the hospital (where
her mother is reading her diary) and flashbacks to the island.)

Viewer Advisory: There is a rather graphic (albeit fully clothed)
sexual encounter between the girl and the man. (She initiated it,
by the way.) A stand-in was used for the side view, alternating
with closeups of Marie-France's face.

Quality note: I recorded this on video tape approximately ten years
ago, but the picture is pretty good. Use the samples to check
the quality. Commercial cuts aren't perfectly smooth, thanks to
lag time in the VCR; there's nothing I can do about it now. (Two
viewer advisories also got left in, but one is at the very beginning.)

Personal note: This movie is very sweet, very touching, very moving.
If you're not crying by the end, there's something seriously wrong
with you! It still gets me every time I watch it!! Do yourself a
favour, don't simply scan it -- watch it without any distractions,
so you can concentrate on the subtitles (there isn't that much
dialogue), and on the emotional performances of the two stars.
