Oh!

Hmmm you need MPEG2 format for burning a standard DVD... So we need a converter? :think

I never burn movies files on DVD (only orignal DVD VOBs).. so maybe someone else can help?

Probably best to hear from Art first before we add several more posts cluttering this thread and perhaps move these post to another place at that point?

MPC with K-Lite Codec Pack plays my recent x264 rips with wrong aspect
Must be the rip itself. Maybe wrong settings while encoding... I never get problems with H.264.

Yeah...i want to modify the extension like an avi or better to view on my DVD player that not have the mkv. Hope now is more clear ;)

I hope not... My rips are just a bit unconventional, because I use avi container (not mkv) and keep the DVD pixel ratio (anamorphic rip). MPC somehow fails to recognize that the rip is anamorphic. Other players work fine.

@Art: I know how to do it with MEncoder, but there are probably better choices for Windows.
