Edit: sorry, I should have reread the last page of this thread. Indeed, the subs below are the incomplete ones mentioned within this thread earlier by David. Here's me :icon_1idiot goku was wondering about a new attempt. Sorry! I left my dumb post intact below.

Not 100% sure, as it's been a while since I've read this thread, but maybe whisper subs may not be necessary? Here is a link to English subs from opensubs, not verified yet:
https://www.opensubtitles.org/en/subtit ... lumeuse-en

The preview section of the page displays the first several lines, which include a note by the translator/editor:
1
00:00:00,160 --> 00:00:06,560
- Since this film came out no known subtitles have been found for this film :(

2
00:00:07,320 --> 00:00:13,620
- The subtitles here are an approx 95% successful (I reckon) attempt
to machine translate them using AI dialogue recognition and my basic French.

3
00:00:13,980 --> 00:00:20,500
- So forgive the odd gaps and errors please!
I used the excellent Microsoft 'Translator 4.0504' app for Android.

4
00:00:20,600 --> 00:00:26,900
- For sentences that couldn't be understood,
I have inserted a '?' placeholder so at least they're timed.

5
00:00:27,080 --> 00:00:34,160
- If you can improve on them, pull out the SRT subtitle file
from this film using a MKV demux tool and ...

6
00:00:34,360 --> 00:00:40,060
... upload a copy to a subtitle site like:
https://www.opensubtitles.org/en

Try watching it with the version I made - the one I used did really well, heeps better than the Google one I also tried, eg. - when the girl talked about not liking the apartment as it was earned through her grandfather's tin mine by exploiting people in another country, hearing some dialogue in the nightclub, picking out people's names not guessing it was other words, etc.
I've not had the time to have another go. If you or anyone else wants to have a go - be my guest!

From the TCM.com page:
Location:
Paris, France; Amboise, France; Canary Islands

Began shooting December 1, 1986.

You chose Lola Créton as the actress to represent yourself. Tell me about her – this film could make the next French star.
She was 16 when we began shooting, and I wanted to do something unusual. I'm always annoyed when films have actresses who are 27 playing teenagers. It always breaks the spell for me. So I wanted a real teenager here, even though this film does then span another 10 years. I thought it'd be a nice change to see someone playing older, even if they did look a bit young in the later stages. But Lola is so delicate and shy.
Like all French actresses, she seems very happy to get her clothes off.
Aha. You English always love that. I can say that for her it was actually a big deal. But what's amazing is that, when the cameras rolled, she was free and sensuous like a cat. It was as if she was discovering her own sexuality before our eyes, but, as soon as the filming stopped, she'd retreat behind sheets, clothes immediately.
She has a little craziness about her, like a young Adjani, but she's so shy with press, with me, with her mum. She's not at ease with words. I think she truly can only express herself through acting. It's her vocation.

Surprisingly I think SensitiveContent doesn’t list all sensitive scenes for this film.

I saw it and it's a brilliant movie. Feels like absurdist comedy but I love the subversion in various places. Alice Papierski is extremely charismatic. Definitely going on my favorite ever list.

I need to watch more films instead of collecting new ones :P and there are also some that I don’t even want to keep (the Jenna Malone one with the violent scenes are a hard choice)
