Please don't delete empty image boxes! I backed up images a while ago, so many lost images can be restored if someone has too much free time ;)

Speaking if imageshack, they first replaced images by small thumbnails and then just deleted them all. Doesn't really make me motivated to discover the "all new imageshack" :wall

We can't rely on postimage either: https://www.first-loves.net/forums/v ... =25&t=5012

I'd prefer images to be posted as attachments, because those I back up regularly.

Mimzy: can you put up guidelines for adding pictures as attachments? Formats, sizes, that kind of thing. Is it possible to set up a filter, or even something that will show a clickable thumbnail on the forum? We don't want people putting up 4MB images. I don't know what kind of hosting we have, or even who pays for it, but usually there are limits to the traffic one gets in a month.

The "upload attachment" tab is just under message edit area, feel free to play with it. Common image formats are supported as well as .zip (might be useful for small files like subtitles or torrents). Images will always be shown as clickable thumbnails (unless the image is very small). Unfortunately fancy layouts are not possible and uploading multiple images can be tedious.

I will also try to implement some kind of automatic mechanism for backing up external images, but this would only work with embedded images. Backing up external web pages would be too much hassle.

I've restored some 5000 missing images from backup. Check out the above thread again: https://www.first-loves.net/forums/v ... =25&t=5012

Clicking on restored images will not work, because there is no backup of external pages.

YES! That was my thought when I saw your posts. (I am still working on the Heidis ... there seem to be alot of them.) I was not even aware of the 2003 version you posted also, but of course I know Hayley Mills.
Thank you very much for both of them!
