And now it's available in FullHD:

Just remove the Russian voice-over dubbing and keep the Lithuanian audio track.

Re: [REL] Grazuole aka The Beautiful Girl (1969) [Lithuania]
Oh yes thank you ghost! I'm getting this.
About a month or so ago I watched an English-language movie (my native language) overdubbed in Russian, and noticed about halfway through that I had gotten used to it! Admittedly I was only doing this because I could not find any source with the original English soundtrack. I would have preferred having subtitles with it though, because I could only hear about half the English.
So maybe as I have already watched THIS one in the original Lithuanian, I should give the Russian a try, hmmm?

Only if you're trying to learn Russian. Old badly dubbed Kung Fu movies are pure artistry next to those horrible voiceovers.Night457 wrote:So maybe as I have already watched THIS one in the original Lithuanian, I should give the Russian a try, hmmm?
How did you manage to get used to that grating voice? Alexa sounds warm and friendly next to the gruff mob enforcer who reads dialogue for rutracker.
Re: [REL] Grazuole aka The Beautiful Girl (1969) [Lithuania]
Well, I already know the words 'pravda' and 'khorosho', so that's a start. And after three decades of insisting on original-language only for movies, now I DO sometimes watch old Kung Fu movies dubbed, when I am just too tired for subtitles!
The movie I watched actually had TWO voiceover artists, one male and one female! So I did not have to deal with a rumbling plhegmatic middle-aged-male voice for the young girls.
But I just finished DLing Grazuole and checked out the Russian track. It is a GOOD dubbing, professionally done with age-and-sex-appropriate voice actors for every role. If I did not have the Lithuanian track I would find it quite acceptable. (Note: the file not only has the Lithuanian track, but optional English or French subtitles.)
I have found that with Soviet-era films, the Eastern Bloc nations frequently got the deluxe full dubbing treatment rather than the bored and droning single narrator.

Yes, I think the really bad voiceovers are done by a releasing group. Non-professional, non-studio, basically pirate dubbers. You get what you pay for, right?Night457 wrote:I have found that with Soviet-era films, the Eastern Bloc nations frequently got the deluxe full dubbing treatment rather than the bored and droning single narrator.
