MMMH A RECENT MOVIE...lol

Don't knock it just because it's old. Those were the good ole days before everyone became so damned P. C. I remember seeing a totally gratuitous scene in the old version of Ben Hur where a procession is led by a group of topless little flower girls.

I don't think it was Art's and it's certainly not my intention to knock it. My tongue is firmly in my cheek.

I totally agree about the good ole days. Look at Child Bride made in America in 1938. Try and do a remake and the director is looking at life behind bars

Don't even need to go back that far. Just think if someone proposed a TV series about three single guys looking after three preteen girls. :w00t: Full House would never get past the producers today.

For the time period this film was made, it was extraordinary. The camera work and acting were years ahead of their time. It's a silent movie and the title cards are all in English (I assume there was a Danish version?). The entire plot revolves around John Sikes, the circus strongman and accused murderer, and Ann West, the woman he thinks betrayed him.

This is not really FLM material though - there is a little girl (Ann's daughter) and she has a very short bath scene, but very minimal screen time and is merely an "extra". The only other non-adult is the 14-year-old son of Sikes who was adopted by Ann after his father was imprisoned. He has a little more screen time than the girl, but again isn't a major player.

I enjoyed the movie anyway, more for its uniqueness and rarity than for being FLM-related.

i reckon i'll wait for the blue ray version of this, i love high definition.
