Thanks to catweazle, FLL, and some others like Laura (whoever you are!), I got the one posted by Ghost this morning. I must've left my quatloos in my red uniform, so here's the next best thing :icon_alc

Cute movie. I wish I understood more than English. I've had classes in Spanish, French, Italian, and German, but never was a linguist, cunning or otherwise. :icon_wink Even so, it wasn't too difficult to follow.

Thanks from me too!!!

Interestingly, one of the lead roles in the *wrong* movie is played by Lara Wendel (23yo this time), who appears in at least 10 FLL releases... http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0093090/

The best approach is to bump release threads asking for a reshare. And not all at once, I know from experience many will jump on a reshared file taking advantage of its possible availability, and not everyone has a lot of diskspace. One a day maybe.

Thank you marvingray.

There is what seems to be a smaller version of the 15Gb Film Scan, a 3.29Gb TС-Rip, downloadable with ulozto links:
http://blizzardkid.net/category/drama-t ... start_com=

Russian subtitles here:
https://www.opensubtitles.org/en/subtit ... eniyami-ru

I think I managed to get the subtitles synced to the shorter YouTube version, but failed with the longer 3.29Gb version. They are different framerates but I think there is another issue involved, such as missing frames between reels. I set it aside for later.

After I posted that link I went back and watched more of this movie. I can't really tell what is going on, but I enjoyed the mean girl. I like their maid-looking outfits.

She's tiny!

I found and downloaded the 15 GB version from rutracker earlier. It has good resolution, but the source film is damaged and exhibits brightness and color fluctuations, along with scratches and so forth - from what I can tell an old 35 mm print was digitized without any restoration work. So be aware that this file (and any rips made from it) are not up to the quality level of a standard 1080p web-dl.

I'm sure Ghost's software can't fix scratches and bubbles but maybe the brightness and color variations?

Yes, the 15 GB file looks terrible. I downlaoded it last year and deleted it again. Maybe I'll give it a second try. Torrent download started...

I agree that an old faded film print that looks like it has been dragged across the floor is not ideal, but is there anything available that looks BETTER? I really would prefer a recommendation rather than having to download every version I can find. I have seen versions of this that look worse, and I knew not to get my hopes up when I saw the latest sources were Telecine. But I am skeptical about the possibility of FIXING something with this damage with anything but a full restoration team and a lot of money. Maybe someone has the negative for a proper restoration someday.

So far I prefer the blizzardkid 3.29Gb TС-Rip because it looks basically the same as the huge original but is much smaller. I am still fighting with syncing the Russian subs. Maybe by accident I will end up getting better at reading phonetically the Cyrillic alphabet, which is at least a start to learning some of the language.
