Review:
This particular film is based on an original radio play by same title (which in return was based on the original book), in where Blomkvist and his loyal two friends join forces to solve yet another crime mystery. This one deals with a younger kid, Rasmus, who always wanted to be a part of Blomkvist's detective team, but while they are contemplating wether to accept him or not, he goes missing...

The movie is in original language without subs...video is good audio is a little bit disturbe...maybe the age of movie...

Subtitle notes:

Spoiler: Based on a radio play and having four young heroes meant alot of talking to go with the action. The Swedish subtitler simplified things by omitting about a third of the dialog at times! The story is still perfectly understandable even when someone's response gets left out of the English translation, but it can be a little jarring to hear talking that is ignored in the subtitle. It seems that a year ago I ripped my own DVD, OCRd the Swedish subtitle, machine-translated and corrected it ... and then neglected to share the result at FLM! Hmmm. In the time since I have probably further developed some of my ideas about Swedish-to-English translation, but I have left it as is with only a few minor edits. I just enjoyed watching it again. The 720p German dub has a superior image to the 576 Swedish DVDrip, but with different runtimes I will not try to do a compress/stretch remux. I was also unable to sync the subtitles to the German version, so it may be a slightly different edit. The children speak a little of their private code language in this. I remember rereading the parts of the books about this and examining the Swedish subtitles to properly decipher the code, and then applying the code rules to the English translation.

Lovely Inger Axö stars in this kid detective story about a professor whose discovery, a way to turn light metals like aluminum into impenetrable armor, gets him kidnapped along with his young son. Inger's character Eva-Lotta winds up taken captive too when she tries to help them, leaving her friends to come to the rescue.

Inger Axö turned 14 about two weeks before shooting began. She was born on June 19, 1939 and according to the Swedish film database:

The filming of Mästerdetektiven och Rasmus started at the beginning of July 1953 and continued until the latter half of August ...

Her age at the time is mistakenly listed as 13 in a lot of places. Just wanted to set the record straight. This site is a great reference for Swedish films by the way - it tends to have a lot more info than IMDb:

The version I'm posting is a 1080p webrip, which not only has greatly improved picture quality but that extra little scene (missing from the 720p rip) of our heroine in her favorite ... swimsuit.

Both original Swedish and English translated subtitles are included.
