Certainly the most visually stunning & arguably the most beautiful of the (many) versions of Heidi. It's slow-paced (well it would be at over 3 hours long), spending considerable time dwelling on the fantastic scenery.

I did a rip of this a year ago. I liked the movie, but felt its beauty was a big part of it and as a 3 hour movie wasn't satisfied with the quality of a 2CD rip. Was almost 2GB before I was happy, and felt that was too much to post, absent a REQ. So my plan was to eventually use this to experiment with making 264 rips, but that's a ways off. Most likely loverboy was able to do better and get more from 2CD. Thanks lb!

I don't know what version of Heidi this is either especially since there are at least four different ones on FLM and probably more that have been filmed. This version is probably in French. Anyone want to download and verify? Both have complete sources.

it might be easier to track down the original spot on the net this was posted. The release tags are still there.
There are literally dozens of versions of Heidi movies out there.

Are you sure? The opening credits say "Silvio Berlusconi Communications presente". I don't have enough of it to tell any more than that at the moment.

720p upgrade, sourced from a torrented file of an upscaled PAL DVD. This is the complete version, it is just a little shorter than the stated IMDB runtime because of the framerate difference. But at three hours + I think it is still too short!

Criticisms: The opening scene revealing the deaths of Heidi's parents is hopelessly overwrought melodrama, with one of the most idiotic father-son arguments imaginable. It gets much better after that! Also, Peter is repeatedly referred to as a "shepherd" when he is obviously a "goatherd"! And this relates to that idiotic argument, too, so the scriptwriters should have known better.

[REL] The Giant of Thunder Mountain (1990)!
(Now I will be moving on to checking out the various Swiss movie versions of "Heidi" ...)

(It actually displays at 960x720 in proper 4:3 TV aspect ratio rather than 1280x720, which would be too wide. I did not know the reason for the original encode pixel ratio but I did not want to damage it too much with a huge change. I just made it a smaller, more reasonable file size, and made sure the aspect ratio display was correct.)
