Thanks starfish. I was going to see this in the theater but the reviews were pretty bad, so I never did. Definitely will rent the DVD though.

IMDB actually says US (listed first, I just looked). I could almost see New Zealand, due to Peter Jackson, but I think UK was just financing.

I watched this film last night.
I’m going to assume that most of the reviews are from those that read the book first and so are making comparisons.

Personally I really enjoyed it. My only complaint: We don’t get to see the “baddie's” party piece!
