Absalons Hemmlighed (Absalon's Secret) is a Danish Christmas miniseries from 2006 starring Sarah Juel Werner (from Ulvepigen Tinke). Absalon was an important historical figure in Denmark during the Middle Ages.
[Image][Image][Image]13-year-old Cecilie loves archeology and lives over a department store where her father is the director. Cecilie's 9-year-old sister Ida has a bad heart and is weak. There does not appear to be anything that the doctors can do for her and her prospects look bleak. Cecilie's great wish is that Ida will get healthy but she knows that it will take something resembling a miracle.
After the construction of a new subway tunnel under the department store, the ruins of Absalon's estate are found, and a new exhibition in the store will display the findings from the excavation. At the opening of the exhibition Cecilie overhears someone mention Absalon's secret. A famous archaeologist named Petra rejects it as nonsense and myths but Cecilie is curious and decides to find out what the secret is on her own.
She meets Hubert, a boy who lives in a secret cave in the basement with other homeless people. It turns out that Hubert also knows about the secret and that it has something to do with a healing power. Cecilie decides to do whatever she can to find the secret and hopes that it can make Ida healthy.
