You are misinterpreting what IMDB is saying, because IMDB has gone to hell in some ways trying to make themselves seem more relevant and local. That part of IMDB is showing the release, not the country where it was made.

In fact, using a Swedish proxy you see

Looks like the subs in the file are probably "forced subs" (for non-French parts of the film only).

Don't have the film yet so don't know which if any match up with the mkv.
