The Lollipop Cover (1965)
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0239567/
this film is extremely rare
I saw it posted while looking for something else and was very excited to finally find it. :dance
if you look at the title of the file you will see it came from another rare source

I first saw the movie listed several years ago on a site that no longer exists. unfortunately I did not save any pictures that were posted there so finding a poster to display has been illusive. if anybody can find a movie poster I would be very grateful if you post it.
all I found was an LP cover

this a great movie and girl has a lot of screen time.

a quote from TVguide
"In this admirable independent feature, a former boxer, Gordon, and an abandoned nine-year-old girl, Seflinger, hitchhike together to California. There, Gordon hopes to find a drug addict who was given Gordon's life savings by his late sister. His search is futile, but, along the way, he learns through his contact with Seflinger to be less cynical. The title stems from the youngster's habit of looking at everything through colored cellophane candy wrappers, a blatant but intriguing symbol. "

the girl is played by Carol Anne Seflinger

I really enjoyed this film! The acting wasn't great and the situation was a little thin on the believability side. It sure reflected a different time that no longer exists - roadside diners, people who pick up hitchhikers, pay phones, and candy stores. Some things don't change - I had to laugh when Gordon said "All right, sweetie baby?"

Thanks ptg, this is a keeper.
