I just finished watching this and thought it was excellent. Morgan Freeman set the tone and really brought the story to life. This was one of those that I planned to scan through to check quality and watch later but got hooked in and ended up watching the whole thing. Great movie, lovely girls and also a great early release. Blu-ray doesn't come out until end of September. I will be buying this one to add to my collection.

Just finished watching this. Beautiful. Virginia Madsen has done quite a few of these haunting, slow moving, introspective films (like Returning Lily http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0358203/ ), quite different from her usual "The Hot Spot" kind of roles. Great kids, especially Emma Fuhrmann.

However, anyone expecting this to be a children's adventure film is going to be disappointed. Enid Blyton this is not.
